Collated list of plays that are on the additional set text list

I did (some of) the work so you don't have to!

Hi everyone - I have gone through all the GCSE Drama Syllabi that were listed in the Additional Set Piece List published by LAMDA Exams a couple of weeks ago.

What follows is a complete collated list of all the plays from which we can now extract monologues and duologues (taking care not to make any changes) and use as SET TEXTS for Grade 4 and 5 LAMDA Acting Exams.

I have put them in date order, from oldest to most recent, and also included a downloadable document that shows what you need to write at the top of the examiner’s copy (which they will take with them for reference).

I have also attached some Shakespeare monologues that can now be used at Grade 4 and 5 set texts as these are the only ones in the public domain… but my next job will be to check which of the other plays have usable monologues and duologues and to share page numbers with you so that they can be easily found. If you are familiar with these plays already and know where we can find good monologues and duologues then please let us know in the comments!

I can already tell you, for example (and I’m sure that there are not many drama teachers out there who don’t know this already…) that you can find excellent monologues in DNA by Denis Kelly by the character, Leah.
